Miscellaneous merriment.

Why must the holidays be so stressful?
Don't get me wrong, I loved seeing my family, and it was great to see Paul & Beka back from KC for awhile -- but given my mild agoraphobia and low threshold for noisy children, I spent the majority of Christmastime drinking and trying to escape the screaming toddlers and cacophony of relatives talking over one another.
Ah well. C'est la vie.
Point of fact: if your nephew runs around screaming "Poopy! Poopy!" while waving a handful of his own feces, a little bit of your Christmas spirit dies.

I won't relate all the tiny details, as that would get boring, but I did get a couple cool things. #1 has to be the scrapbook-style album of all my online poetry, printed out and fashionably arranged, leatherbound. That was from my sister Sarah - and I cried. I know, I know - I'm a pansy. My parents gave me a wallet with a chain attached, which I found amusing. And I finally have some pictures of my darling babies.

The painting of Luke I did for Mom & Dad went over quite well, though I was embarassed by their insistence on showing it off to every relative that visited. Mom wants to get it framed which'll look great in their living room.

Now I'm gearing up for the cocktail party this weekend with G., and cleaning The Lair. It was quite a disaster.

Breakfast today consists of Christmas cookies and Yuengling. I'm very health-conscious.

yes, toddlers can be a pain in the ass. vic's munchkin was a handful and a half. but justin and tonya's girls are so well behaved and at the stage where they love piggy back rides and crazy uncle's. so for once in my life i can feel appreciated by a female. plus they make good ammo retriever's.

Never be embarrassed over someone's pride in your work. Your nephew's gravitation toward using his dung as a toy, and art medium, does astound me to this day.

Hey - despite the pangs of the season... It was good to see you. We'll have to make it out to one of your shows sometime. Gotta hear the doughboy in action. :) BTW - I lost my envelope of change in the second round. C'est la Vie.
